Main Body of NZEF sails to war

On the 19th of October 1914 (during the first world war) the main body of NZEF sails to war including 10 grey-painted troopships, just under 4000 horses, 8500 men and escorted by 4 giant warships. This was the second major department following the 1400 strong Samoan advance which had left around 2 months earlier from Wellington.
